API & Commercial Data Licensing

How commercial access to GeneticCoding data may be licensed.

Effective September 5, 2026Last updated September 5, 2026Version 1.0
Commercial access to GeneticCoding data may become available through separate written licenses. Website access does not grant API or data rights.

1. Licensing models

Commercial access to GeneticCoding data, where available, is granted under separate written licenses. Licensing models we may offer include:

  • Developer API — individual developer access for building applications.
  • Professional API — higher-volume professional and team access.
  • Enterprise API — organization-scale access with dedicated terms.
  • Bulk Data License — delivery of curated datasets under license.
  • Research License — access for approved research projects.
  • Academic License — access for accredited academic institutions.
  • White-Label License — embedding GeneticCoding content in your product under license.
  • Commercial Integration License — integration of GeneticCoding data into commercial offerings.

2. What website access does not grant

Website access does not grant API rights. Access to our website, encyclopedia, or reports does not grant any right to access our systems programmatically, extract data at scale, or use our content commercially.

3. What API access does not automatically grant

API access, where granted, does not automatically include any of the following — each must be expressly granted under the applicable written license:

  • Redistribution rights.
  • Sublicensing rights.
  • Bulk database rights.
  • Resale rights.
  • Competitive-use rights.

4. License terms we may impose

Commercial rights are expressly granted under the applicable written license, which may include conditions such as:

  • API keys and credential controls.
  • Rate limits and usage quotas.
  • Permitted-use restrictions.
  • Attribution requirements.
  • Retention limits.
  • Field-level permissions.
  • Export limitations.
  • Usage monitoring.
  • Credential restrictions.
  • Audit rights.
  • Termination rights.
